Nokia Lumia 610 with Tango May Be Unveiled at MWC

We’ve got the Nokia Lumia 900, the Lumia 800 and the Nokia Lumia 710; the first two being top of the line handsets and the third one being a more affordable mid-range phone. Now, there are chances that “Nokia Lumia 610” and “Nokia 305” may already be in the making and are almost in the finishing stages. Postel, Indonesia’s FCC section has posted information on these two previously unheard phones, the Lumia 610 and the Nokia 305, as reported by GSMArena.

In their database, they’ve included some basic information on the phones and though it barely gives us any detailed specs, here’s what has been disclosed. In terms of connectivity, the 610 will have 2G and 3G enabled, along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, whilst the other model, the Asha 305, doesn’t even have those specs listed. So, it’s not even the bare minimum.

However, there are big chances that Nokia will be launching a few more phones to give customers some extra dough to play around with, besides the existing handsets. The Nokia Lumia 610 is high on the confirmation list and we might just see it unveiled at Barcelona at MWC, that’s coming up a few days from now.

Motorola Xoom - Now Available in India

“The tablet, which has a very impressive specification, can now be considered as a good buy.”
Motorola has slashed the price of its Xoom tablet by as much as Rs 10,000. The WiFi version of the tablet is now available for Rs 21,500 on Koovs (a deals site), while the 3G version comes for just Rs 25,000.

Even on other sites like Flipkart.com, the tablet is available for Rs 26,850 for Wi-Fi, 3G, 32 GB version. We are yet to receive the confirmation from Motorola as to whether it is an official price cut or it is just a year end sale to reduce last year's inventory.

Xoom, the first tablet to be based on Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system, was launched with much fanfare around the middle of last year but was not given a warm reception by the consumers, probably because it was priced too high. Motorola has perhaps trying to increase the sales with this price cut.

The Xoom is powered by a 1 GHz dual core processor, which allows the Xoom to handle even CPU intensive apps like HD gaming. The tablet supports Adobe Flash player.

Its primary 5-megapixel camera comes with LED flash, digital zoom, and even supports HD video shooting. The Xoom also features a front facing 2 megapixel camera for video chats. Notably, the tablet is expected to get Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) upgrade soon.

The specifications of the tablet are impressive enough and with this price reduction the tablet becomes a good buy in our view. However, what might play spoil sport is the fact that even other manufacturers like BlackBerry and Sony (in USA but likely in India also) have also cut prices of their devices (PlayBook and Tablet S respectively). Other tablet manufacturers could also follow suit soon.

Apple To Reveal Latest iPad In March' 2012

SAN FRANCISCO, California - Apple Inc plans to introduce its latest iPad tablet at an event in the first week in March, the website AllThingsD reported, citing unnamed sources.

The event will be held in San Francisco, likely at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, which is Apple's preferred site for product launches, the website said.
An Apple spokeswoman declined to comment.

Apple has typically introduced the latest versions of its iPad 3 in the first few months of the year. The current iPad 2 was introduced on March 2, 2011. The original iPad was introduced at the end of January 2010.

Apple's iPad dominates the nascent market for tablets even though deep-pocketed rivals are taking aim at the lucrative segment. Amazon.com Inc's Kindle Fire, which sells at half the cost of an iPad, has chipped away at the lower end of the tablet market.

Apple iPad tablet sales doubled in the December quarter to 15.43 million units from a year earlier.
